Road Trip to Iowa

The weekend was great......Justin and I and a couple of friends headed to Shenandoah, IA to visit my cousin Jim and his girlfriend Valerie. It was a great time, with great people and a POOL! Although the clean up the next morning was a little.....rough....it was a great time and a great place to go when wanting to get out of Lincoln.

Spring Cleaning, Better Late Than Never

I know I'm a few months late on the whole idea of spring cleaning....but it definately needs to be done, so for my own benefit i'll call it Sprummer (spring-summer) cleaning.

My goal is to start cleaning (after I blog of course) and before Justin comes home, so when he arrives I will be working my tail off and he will feel guilty that i'm doing it by myself therefore making him feel obligated to help. Nice huh? Married a month and i'm already plotting.

We had a small ceremony in Las Vegas and are planning a reception here for friends and family in roughly 2 weeks, my house is ridiculous and is screaming to be deep cleaned. This means family who I haven't seen in a long time will be seeing my home for the first time....yikes! I found a couple websites that are good for seasonal cleaning and i'm hoping I can stay motivated enought to finish the checklists before they arrive!

If anyone has any good ideas on how to keep motivated, how to stay organized or how to get a hubby to help, feel free to leave some comments! Hey... I'm new at this!

Wish me luck!

Our Ceremony 5/27/09

I want you to know how simply amazing you are. I love you so much, I didn't know how possible it was to feel this much love. You are my love and my life, you are the reason I wake up and smile, and life with you is more blissful than a sweet dream.

Marriage, Laundry and Yard Work

So we've been married 3 weeks, and something must have internally changed for both Justin and I when we initially got married. We have lived together for a year prior to marriage, yet one of the first thing that came out of our mouths when we got home from the honeymoon was, "This place is such a mess! We need to clean."

UMMM......since when?

So to my amazement, Justin calls me at work today (another first) to tell me how he is having a rough morning.

THE CULPRIT: The lawnmower and weed eater wouldn't start. (seriously he said they both wouldn't start)

AGAIN....Since when is he in a negative mood because he can't mow?

MY REACTION: "Oh no, that's terrible! Don't let it get you down before you have to work. Go inside and cool off, it's muggy outside and you're probably just needing to cool off."

(I had to giggle to myself because FINALLY he's doing yard work and I tell him to go inside and cool off???)

Maybe marriage had made me soft?

And now, I should be doing laundry and making food for tomorrow's meeting at work and instead, I am posting a blog about Justin not finishing the yard....haha.
